What a sweet little darlin Erin! I loved all the pictures- so beautiful! And I loved reading all your new 'stuff'. I hope we get to see you this summer, if you aren't traveling the world with Jason :)
I heard at church that you had a new baby congrats!! She is beautiful. It's been a long time since you lived here - but I just wanted to tell Jason thanks so much for being/setting such a good example for Brandon with home teaching - he still talks about what a great guy Jason is. Anyhow hope all is well -- our blog is www.doylefamilyutah.blogspot.com
Erin! Congrats on your two beautiful girls and your cute family! Sounds like life is treating you well...I loved all the pictures! You should definitely keep updating your blog so all your long lost friends can keep tabs on you! :)
This is Mike Andes, one of Jason's old roommates from Utah. I was just looking to get your home address to send a Wedding Announcement to. Can you please email that to me at rmike85@gmail.com Thanks.
I promise I will try to be better about updating our blog. But it's just not at the top of my priority list... so there's no guarantees!
We are now a happy family of four! Yep, you read me right... FOUR! Our latest addition arrived February 6th, 2009 at 10:45pm. Our beatuiful little Abigail came out at 6lb. 13oz. and 19in. long. She is such a sweet baby and fits into our family quite nicely. Her big sister, Leah, is occasionally jealous, but if you try to take Abby away, even just for a quick hold, big sis will get pretty protective and want "her" baby back.
Leah is now two years old... but don't tell her that. Jason taught her to say she's "terrible two". She is super smart, and can be the best little helper, or quite a challenge- depending on her mood. We have been working with her on potty training. The real trick is keeping her interested long enough to get her to keep going. Yesterday I created a "potty chart" for her. I thought that 21 stickers would be a good goal to reach for, so I promised her a trip to Chuck E. Cheese's when she filled it up. She got 9 stickers her first day, and close to that again today... so it looks like we'll be going on Saturday. But if it works- I'm all for it.
I, Erin (a.k.a. Mommy), am as busy as ever as a mom of two. I love playing with my kiddos and CAN'T WAIT for summer to hurry up and get here so that we can do stuff outside of our four walls. Every time we drive past a playground Leah gets really excited and wants to go. I've been telling her for the past 6 months that we'll go to the park when winter is over... and I still don't see it happening any time soon. I guess that's what I get for living in Alaska! I am excited to run a half marathon in June and have mapped out a training schedule I am sticking to. I figured this would be great motivation to get back into shape after 9 months of pregnancy.
Lastly there's Jason. He has been so eager to get out of Alaska since the minute we moved here. It's a good thing I don't have my heart set on living here forever or we'd have some serious trouble. Due to health problems, and other issues, Jason decided to leave the world of aviation last fall. He has been in search of a new career, but with the crazy economy he has had difficulty. So he decided to join the Army. Luckily, he qualified to join as an officer, which means better pay, better benefits, and more respect from fellow workers. He is currently in South Carolina for Boot Camp, and then has Officer Candidate School, and then more specialized training. Unfortunately this means he is gone a lot from us, but hopefully it will be stable and worth it. At least he doesn't have to deal with this cold weather any longer!
Well, I think that's it for now. We'd love to hear from you, so send us an email and let us know how you're doing! ecuadorerin@yahoo.com Love, The Rivards
